Flue-cured tobacco is dried with heat directed from flues or pipes that extend from a furnace into the barn. Flue-cured tobacco is grown in Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. Flue-cured tobacco are bright and golden in color. Gold handles
Burley
Burley is a larger plant than the flue-cured tobacco and it's 'air-cured’ by hanging in structures with a roof, but with open sides to allow air to freely circulate. Mainly grown in Kentucky and Tennessee, burley leaves are light brown in color. These areas also grow a specific type of burley tobacco, Dark Fired tobacco is a darker mahogany color. Gold Handles
